It has been so long since I have posted here. I am still a happy guy and I am still handsome ... in case you are wondering. I have lots of pictures to share with you and I will catch you all up on what I have been doing. I can't wait!!

Kamo and I have been taking tracking classes for 4 weeks now. He is progressing fairly rapidly and as always, I am super proud of the little guy. We have some pictures to share of our progress.

Dog Show Days

Kamo and attended 2 conformation shows this weekend and the little man did pretty darn good I think. Saturday he was Best of Opposite Sex and today he showed his little heart out and came home with Best of Breed. I am always proud of my guy and today I was so happy with how he handled being with his new handler Peggy. She is so good to him and that makes everything so much easier ... for him AND me!!

I am putting him in a couple of times a year just so that he remembers what it is like to be out there and I wanted him to get to know his new friend. I was very happy when he jumped up and gave her a big kiss in the group ring.

No more conformation for awhile but we were all smiles with how he did this weekend ... I don't think that he could do anything that would make me unhappy ... and I am pretty easy to please when it comes to him

After I let Kamo go to the lake!!! There is still ice on it so we were really careful, but I thought he was going to climb out of his skin when he figured out where we were going

Playn' in Puddles

Spring has FINALLY arrived. It took forever and is a couple of weeks later than normal. I had to break it to Kamo that swimming will probably be a couple of weeks later then he was expecting ... BUT ... I did have some big puddles he could play in. With a huff he agreed to the puddles (he really didn't have a choice but I chose not to tell him)

My camera was not focusing very well and I finally realized that the lens had a funny dirt spot on it but by then it was too late. The pictures are not the best but the dogs had such a good time that I had to share anyway.

Kamo LOVES to run and slide on his side down the driveway. He can do this literally for hours and when the conditions are just right he can slide quite a ways. He runs, tucks in his shoulder and drops ... sometimes with a HUGE thud!!

I took some video of him and unfortunately I did not capture a huge slide but I think it is cute anyway. It is mostly just rolling with the longest slide being at the very beginning. One day I will get the long slide on video to share with everyone.

I think the boy spent a past life as a penguin.
My favorite part is where he stops to make sure I am still taping him ... what a ham

What's that in your mouth??

In the last few months I have been noticing that Kamo likes to have things in his mouth. He has always picked stuff up and carried them around but lately every time I look at him he has something in his mouth.

When someone comes to the door and he can't find a toy near by he will pick up ANYTHING ... a leaf, fuzz, shoes, the basket that holds the toys by the front door ... anything.

Before bed he always brings 3 specific toys into the bedroom and if he can't find them a little bit of panic sets in. He gives me a look of desperation and I open the door let him go look. He takes off like a bolt of lightning and brings them back.

I have been looking at pictures and noticed that there are LOTS of them with things in his mouth. Life goes by so fast that I just don't want to miss the little things. Here are a few pictures to share.

Do you notice a pattern? Funny little guy. It is amazing what things we take for granted just because we see it every day.

I can't tell you how much I love this dog. He is really a one in a million!!!
I know I have said it 100's of times, but thank you Ann, from the bottom of my heart!

Wow!! I can't believe that Kyah is 10. (her birthday was actually Feb 12th - my bad) I have to say that as sad as it may sound, I truly did not believe that Kyah would still be with us today. Through all of her problems and issues, she has always maintained a happy, happy attitude. I only hope that we could all be as well adjusted as her. She has always been, and continues to be, my source of inspiration.

Whoo I'm TWO!!!

Where did the time go? Dawn says that now she has to stop telling people my age in months and that when I get in trouble it is not because I am a puppy but just because I am BAD!!! What ever ... I am never bad! Anyway ... we had 2 parties for me.

One at home last night ... sort of a "pre-Birthday" party. We all got a donut and I got some toys ... Loved them.

Winter fun

Dawn dislocated her knee and we have not been able to hang out outside very much. Something about crazy dogs running into her legs or something!!! But she did take us out for a little bit of calm fun.

Been awhile!

Well it has been awhile since I last posted. Lets see, what have we been doing?

Christmas time was a blast. I spent some time with the big man himself.
We all look great together if I do say so myself.
Kyah and Wynnie are less enthusiastic than I am, but I smiled big enough for the 3 of us.

It was very cold today. Kamo is making me want to strangle him ... which is pretty hard to do seeing that he pretty much makes me smile all the time. Our day consists of him whining at the door, going out side, freezing into a 117lb ice block, coming back in, whining at the door ... you see the pattern!!!

I decided that something needed to be done so Kamo had his feet stuffed into winter boot and I threw the girls winter coat on him ... the neck and shoulders are a bit tight on him ... and off we went into the cold and snow. We don't have a lot of snow, just a lot of cold. Kamo had a blast, he could finally run without freezing.

He ran ... and ran ... and ran some more

Kamo vs. Santa ... Rottweilers Rule

I have been trying to get some christmas shopping done and that means buying for family pets as well. My cousin Alanna's golden retriever puppy just recovered from a nasty battle with parvo and I thought that she deserved a nice present for christmas. I noticed these squeaky mats in the order catalogue at work and thought she would like a santa mat with 16 squeakies!!!

Kamo and I have a little ritual while we train. We do some exercises and he gets treats and gets to play with his squeaky tennis ball after, but if I ask him to do something that he seems to have a bit of a hard time getting then we jackpot in the toy bag. I always have a little bag full of his favorite squeaky toys and we run and he gets to choose which ever he wants and we play with it. I had the santa tucked away in my work bag (I did not even think that he knew I had the toy) and we were practicing finishes in the living room. He has decided that he would prefer to finish to the right instead of the left lately and when he did one PERFECT and with lots of animation I told him to run and pick a toy ... he knows the drill ... but he took off the other way and came back with the santa ... little bugger!!!

I told him that he could not have that one ... pick another but he looked at me like this ...

Plleeeaassse can I have it?? Please!

ughh how can anyone resist that face! He knows how to play hard ball. But I stuck to my guns and I took it away. we played with squeaky duck and life was happy for him again. Then I went and had a bath. When I came out I seen this ...

Kamo has 2 obsessions in life ... one is swimming and the other are toys that squeak. This toy has 16 squeakers in it and it was apparently too much for him to handle. I decided that it was destiny that Kamo and Santa be together. It has been a long time since I allowed him to destroy a toy ... mostly because I hate cleaning up the fuzz but today I was feeling extra nice and I let him have at er'. I think he was pretty happy!!

I can't believe she is letting me destroy this toy!

She must have gone insane.

Maybe if I don't look at her, then she can't see me either!

I am going to start with the tip of Santa's hat.

The Lion And The Mouse

Alanna has a very beautiful Golden Retriever puppy named Sierra. We all went to the lake so that Sierra and I could play together. I had a blast but Sierra was scared of me. I hope that she grows to love me ... I really am a great guy!

Kamo Vs Sheep

Wynnie, Kyah and I went to Wynnie's breeder's house to play with some sheep and ducks. Kyah just watched but Wynnie and I had a blast. I have only seen sheep off and I was very excited to be getting a lesson all by myself. Dawn says that I am very strong, very fast and VERY enthusiastic. She called me a 112lb freight train. Wow, what a work out. I made her run so fast.

Swimmin' With the Fishes

My very, very favorite thing to do in the whole entire world is SWIMMING. I could swim for hours and hours without stopping. It is so much fun. I was not very sure about the swimming stuff when I was little though. I needed a lot of coaxing to get in the water and even then I was the king of wading. This was my idea of swimming:

Dawn would throw the stick and Wynnie would go get it ...

Then I would take it from her ...

... And run over the hill triumphant!!!

Soon I was given my very own life jacket ... remember safety first!! I followed Wynnie into the water but I was still just wanting to go up to my chest. It is very scary to not have my feet on the ground, but I wanted to have that stick so bad. The best I could do was splash around and bark a lot. I might not have been able to swim but I could make a HUGE splash!

Eventually I had to be brave ... I mean really, could I let a little australian shepherd get the stick all the time?? I think not! I started by wadding in deeper and deeper and then one day I just jumped in. Then I think I might have almost drank all the water in the dug out! YUCK. But I did it and I was pretty proud of myself. I started swimming more and more and soon I was not even tasting the water.

I love it when Logan comes to the lake with me. We have so much fun. I can't wait until he can throw the ball really far.

He is my best friend

Now I am a very strong swimmer. Dawn and I go to the lake almost every day in the summer time. I know the way now and when we get in the Jeep to go I can hardly contain myself. I can swim so far out now. I am such a big boy :o)

If you get a moment to take a dip in a cool lake ... throw a ball for me!

SNOW much fun!

Like I have said before, I was born in January so it was very snowy and cold. Some of my brothers and sisters were able to go and live with families in very warm climates but I thought that Alberta sounded good too ... until I got here! It is REALLY COLD in the winter. Brrrr. At first I was not very happy with having to walk out in the snow every day. It made my tummy and my feet cold and I wanted to go in right away. I was not having fun.

One day when I was at grandpa's house, I was playing out in the field with the big dogs and I forgot about how cold the snow was on my feet. I started to have lots and lots of fun and I was learning so much.

Wynnie chased me until my feet were not cold anymore ... she is always thinking of me

Then Toes and Kyah taught me the fine art of tracking

Eventually I got the hang of this snow stuff

Yipee!!!

Now I LOVE the snow. I have learned that it isn't cold ... it is FUN. The best time is when I play in the really deep, fresh snow.

I especially like to run through the really deep snow!

It tastes good too!!

If you ever get the chance to play in the snow I would recommend it. It is so much fun ... and is one of my very favorite things to do. Make sure that you bring lots of toys though because that is what makes it fun.

Next my favorite activity of all ... Swimming!!

In the Spotlight

When I was 7 months old I was introduced to the world of dog shows. My very first one was on outdoor show and it was VERY hot. Dawn gave me a good bath and told me how handsome I was to get me all ready for my very first time in the ring. My friend Jeanine put my shiny collar on me and away we went. Dawn was pretty nervous to see how I would do and wondered if I would be a good boy for Jeanine. I am not sure what she was worried about I am always good. To be honest, I am not sure what the fuss is all about. We relax beside the ring, then we go in and stand around while I get treats, then we run around a bit, more treats and then a big hug ... pretty easy really. Here is a picture of me at my first show. I won Winners Dog, Best of Winners AND Best of Breed as a little baby. Dawn was pretty excited. I just loved the treats.

Next we played outside again at attended a german style sieger show. There was a lot of standing around again but this time I got to play with toys that Dawn was showing me from outside of the ring. In this show the judge uses a microphone and tells everyone what he thinks of how I look. I wasn't listening but Dawn told me that he said nice things. I met a new friend here. Her name is Gwen and she helped me look my very best for the judge and we got to run around the ring together. It was a lot of fun. I was first in my class and got a VP-1 rating. Dawn tells me that that is great. This show was a lot of fun and I hope that I will get to go to one again some day. Here are a few of my pictures.

I got the last points that I needed at the Camrose show when I was a little bit older. Jeanine went into the ring with me again and I was such a good boy. I stood like I was supposed to and I did not even wiggle when the judge checked me out. There were lots of treats again ... and lots of hugs and kisses when we came out of the ring. I think I like this show biz stuff!! I am now a Canadian Champion. Here are more pictures AGAIN!!

I can Fly!!

In order to go and live with Dawn I had to fly on an airplane. Alanna came with Dawn to pick me up and I am very glad that she did. I was able to snuggle with her at the airport and we are still very good friends.

I was born in January so it was still pretty snowy when I had to fly home. We had a long wait at the airport but I was so good ... in my opinion anyway. I fell asleep on the chairs ... I just could not keep my eyes open any longer.

Finally after a long flight that included an hour long delay and the plane had to be de-iced, we arrived home. Dawn and Alanna picked up their suitcases and I hoped that they would not forget the most important package ... ME!!

Next I will let you know what I have been doing now that I am growing up so big.

Humble Beginnings

I was born in Ontario, Canada and had a very comfy home with lots of brothers and sisters. My Mom was always there to help me when I got into trouble and to love me and snuggle with me at night. That is me ... the second one on the left. I had a little red ribbon put on when I was born so that Mike and Ann would know who I was. That is very important you know, everyone needs to know who I am.

This is Iza, my Mom. She is a great Mom and we all grew up so very fast. Eventually we got to move into a play pen to give us a little bit more room. Can you see me way at the back? We have our big dog collars on now but mine is still red. Dawn still did not know which one of us was going to come to live with her, but she was hoping that it would be me.

I was the first one to open my eyes. Look how cute I am! How could you resist this face? Huh? How could you?

Eventually we got to play with toys and what a great time we all had. I love my brothers and sisters. This pictures shows that Ann better not send me to anyone who wants to have an agility dog. I don't think that my future looks too bright in this area!! I still wonder why she took my picture and did not help me out of this predicament!!

Finally all the decisions were made and I was chosen to go and live with Dawn and we have never looked back.

I am so excited to post all my pictures and to let everyone know what I have been doing lately. So sit back and enjoy the ride.
